Locus Robotics unveiled its Rapid Assessment & Design Service (RAD) today. The program enables prospects and customers to evaluate the benefits and return on investment (ROI) of deploying autonomous mobile robots (AMRs).
The Locus RAD program follows these three steps:
- 1. Data Collection: Locus gathers historical customer data about the facility
- 2. Proposal Development: Locus designs a complete concept of operations, including ROI, program timelines, and key performance metrics.
- 3. Project Plan Review: Locus develops a comprehensive plan for fast implementation
Locus claims it can deliver a detailed report and recommendations in just one week, speeding up evaluation and implementation times, and allowing operators to be ready for the coming demand. And the vast majority of the Locus RAD plan can be executed without the need to visit the customer facility, which conforms to the social distancing guidelines that have been issued due to COVID-19.

Global e-commerce sales are expected to top $4.2 trillion in 2020 and reach more than $6.5 trillion by 2023, with more than 2.1 billion shoppers expected to purchase goods and services online by 2021, according to market research firm Statista.
Locus Robotics and DHL Supply Chain recently announced an expansion of their partnership with new deployments of Locus’ AMRs throughout 2020. DHL Supply Chain, part of the Deutsche Post DHL Group, will deploy 1,000 LocusBots to support 12 DHL sites in North America.
